Business ImmigrationBusiness Immigration/ Entrepreneur Programs were introduced for the business people/ entrepreneurs who will invest in Canada, generate employment and help Canada to build a strong and prosperous economy. This is primarily for those who can demonstrate prior business experience or senior management roles for at least 3-5 years.
Every province has it’s own selection criteria for Entrepreneurs, however as a general rule, an applicant has to show relevant business experience to qualify as an entrepreneur immigrant and has to show a net worth of $500,000- $600,000 Canadian Dollars earned through legal means. An applicant is also required to meet minimum points (cut off for each province for their Entrepreneur program draws may differ) to qualify, based on their age, qualification, business experience, net worth, investment made in the province, location of business and other adaptability factors.
Once you are invited to apply for immigration you can start your business there on a Work Permit and upon fulfilling the required criteria within 12-20 months (depending on the province) you will receive a positive nomination from the province where you have set up your business and based on that you can then apply for and be granted a Permanent Residence visa. While you are in Canada on a Work Permit setting up your business you are allowed to have your spouse accompany you on an Open Work Permit and you can also take your children along on a Study Permit.
Start-Up Visa
A direct permanent residency program for entrepreneurs an innovative idea and ability to create jobs for Canadians. Applicants should be able to pitch and get the support of a business incubator in Canada.

This category is for foreign nationals who wish to establish or purchase a business in Canada, and want to work in that business in a high-skilled position, often with the aim of immigrating permanently. This program is ideal for foreign nationals who meet the requirements of the Federal Express Entry, but do not have enough points to receive Invitation to Apply. Self-employed person’s immigration program is designed to attract foreign nationals who have the capability of employing themselves and contributing to sports, athletics or cultural activities in Canada. An applicant must have:
The selection criteria for a visa as a Self-Employed person is based on your experience, education, age, language ability and other adaptability factors. Maximum points are allocated to experience and hence that is the primary factor in determining your success under this category.

Students can apply for courses at University of Saskatchewan, SIAST, Fanshawe, Lambton College, Niagara, Camosun, George Brown and many more. Upon completing education you may be eligible for applying for a post graduation work permit, which can eventually lead to a Permanent Residence.

- A proposal to employ at least one Canadian citizen or permanent resident (a minimum of 3 including a middle manager for senior managerial position – NOC 00).
